I never get asked why I use the domain nikad.net but I might as well explain just in case a collegue or friend eventually wants to find out.
Back in my school days (in the '80s) I had a friend called Nick, I don't really talk to him these days but that is because I moved out of the area! Even back then I thought about starting a company and at one point I puzzled over what to call it. Eventually I came up with a combination of the two names Nick and KAD which ended up being truncated to NiKAD (hence the odd capitalisation).
This name stuck and was even my prefered name for the first batch of white wine I produced until my father thought KABill sounded better (ugh! The things you have to put up from your parents!!)
Eventually after I left University and had been working for a few years in the IT industry I decided to get a domain - nikad seemed a natural progression but as nikad.com was taken (and I was not a company so nikad.co.uk was out the window) I plumped for nikad.net, and now the name has stuck. I don't intend to change my domain as I don't want to have to give out a new email address to everyone but needles to say I have now also branched out to have nikad.mobi and nikad.tel. Both of these domains are experimantal so do not expect any good content on them, though the .tel domain does have my personal data you will need to become a telfriends friend to see it!
